MEET LEN

My name is Len Hrycan and I am running for a council seat in the 2022 Sun Peaks Mountain Resort municipal election. I am a long-time resident of Kamloops, British Columbia and a long-time owner at Sun Peaks, British Columbia. Since 2012, my wife, Sharon, and I have resided at Sun Peaks full-time during the winter. I am a father to four children, Ryan, Graham (Elise), Shea, and Erin. I am a grandfather to Hailey and Cooper.

Since my first tracks down Tod Mountain in the late 1970s, I fell in love with the mountain lifestyle. My wife and I made our investment in Tod Mountain in 1989. Since then, our family has held seasons passes at Sun Peaks and enjoyed the great variety of winter and summer events that Sun Peaks offers. We have made many friends while getting to know other members of the community and have tried to support the local businesses. Over the years, our children have held employment at Sun Peaks and have also made many lifelong friends.

I am retired from local government and regulatory adjudication. Now, some of the activities my wife and I enjoy are skiing, mountain biking and hiking with our family, and showing our grandchildren the joy in our world. I also like doing DIY projects, woodworking, socializing, reading, and attending music and community arts performances. My children are creative and accomplished individuals. I cherish spending time with them, sharing my experiences, and also hearing their important views on the world.
